THE POWER OF MEMORY

Our memories of the past, combined with our imaginations of the future, create our sense of self. Intense, emotional, personal experiences are the strongest anchors of our memory, as these experiences stick out more than less intense, forgettable moments.

Emotional experiences, both good and bad, help form our core beliefs – memories of these events influence the way we handle and react to similar situations after the original experience. In other words, memories are very powerful, as they ultimately change the way we think and behave, based on the way we and others have behaved in the past, in our memories.

Nostalgia is strongly linked to memory. We’ve all experienced the intense rush of emotion that occurs when the smell of a certain perfume, the taste of a dish, or the sound of a song, takes you back in an instant to a specific time and place. The senses help to anchor our most emotional memories, like buttons on a time machine

Sometimes, this emotional rush is an overwhelmingly amazing experience, but other times, it can leave you feeling sad or upset, yearning for a piece of the past to come back into your life. That is because deeply emotional memories are often magnified, and we zoom in on one core aspect of the experience, forgetting the more peripheral, sidelined memories.

When we yearn for something from the past, like an ex-partner, an old friend, a childhood home, a parent – we can often limit and prevent ourselves from taking the next step into the future. Memoires hold the all-powerful key to unlocking your limiting beliefs.

By unlocking the memories that hold these limiting beliefs, you are empowered to break free of patterns, loops and habits that are ultimately damaging to you and preventing personal growth. Like roadblocks on a path to your higher self, with each new, buried memory that you unlock, you are removing the barriers that are in your way.
Unlocking these deep, buried memories is not easy, but it is doable. In my 1:1 hypnosis sessions, I guide my clients through their subconscious to unlock these memories and the limiting beliefs that they create. You can book a connection call with me here to find out whether hypnosis feels right for you.
